Recent NHTSA Report Reveals the Audi S8 is Very Desirable

Every year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) releases a report that reveals what some of the most desired vehicles on the road are. No, it does not reflect the most purchased vehicles. As a matter of fact, it reflects the ones that are the most stolen. For the 2009 model year, the most stolen vehicle was the Audi S8 - 8.81 thefts per 1,000 vehicles produced!

That doesn't really surprise us here at Gurley Leep Motor Werks, as the S8 has proven time and time again to be a superb luxury vehicle. Since its introduction in 1994, the high-performance variant of the flagship Audi A8, has continued to impress critics and enthusiasts with its super powerful engine, Quattro four-wheel drive, and sleek styling.

Though auto thefts seem to be on the downslope as a whole (1.33 vehicles per 1,000 produced in 2009), the appeal of the Audi S8 (for buyers) continues to rise. For 2012, Audi gave the S8 70 more units of horsepower, an updated grille and rear bumper, quad tailpipes, new sport seats and steering wheel, and an extra trim level for those interested in a super-sporty look.

With that in mind, Gurley Leep Motor Werks wants to give those of you interested in the all-new Audi S8 some security pointers well ahead of its projected arrival in our showroom (fall of 2012). For example, always park in a well-lit area, or in your garage if you can, and if you might be traveling through high-risk areas, invest in car security devices like the CLUB.

By following these simple tips, your highly-desired Audi S8 will stay safe. If you'd like to learn more about keeping your Audi secure, contact us via our website anytime.
